Seven Songs for Iphigenia: Lisa and Irina received the Old Gold Fellowship from the University of Iowa to travel to Crete, Greece where Lisa wrote and staged a site-specific version of the play and Irina began filming with Cinematographer, Gus Ford, capturing the unfolding crisis on Lesvos Island.
Fragments from an Excavation: Iphigenia was adapted for the Climate Change Theatre Action produced by No Passport, The Artic Cycle and Theatre Without Borders for COP21 in Paris. It was performed at over 100 venues in 25 countries and at COP21.

Irina’s Documentaires from Lesvos Series: Children in Gold, Sisters and The Waterline were Official Selections at: Fargo Film Festival in Fargo, ND; DocuWest Film Festival in Denver, CO; Global Impact Film Festival in Washington D.C.; Socially Relevant Film Festival in New York, NY and at Social Justice Film Festival in Seattle, WA. The films won Award of Recognition at ImpactDoc Film Festival and Best Short Documentary award at Peace on Earth Film Festival in Chicago.

Summer, Iowa City: 4-week Obermann Center for Advanced Studies Interdisciplinary Research Fellowship for Key Artistic Team ($25,500 Grant)

Irina’s Documentaries from Lesvos Series screened at Dr. Dweck Cultural Center of Brooklyn Public Library; Ridgefield Library of Ridgefield, CT; Pequot library of Southport, CT; Mark Twain Library of Redding, CT and Woody Tanger Auditorium presented by the Wolfe Institute

University of Iowa Arts and Humanities Initiative Major Grant & Matching Theater Department Grant for November Showcase (Total Grant: $65,000)
Face Foundation (in partnership with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy) Grant ($10,000)
Research Grant Awarded by PSC-CUNY for Irina Patkanian and Gus Ford to return to Europe to film the refugees in Greece, France and Lebanon. ($6,000)
**Filming the refugee crisis will be an on-going commitment from the production, to keep the documentary reflective of the constantly current refugee crisis.
Staged reading at Iowa City Book Festival, UNESCO City of Literature.
Showcase at the University of Iowa (November 1-15) Thayer Theater Department in partnership with Hancher Auditorium’s Embracing Complexity program, the Center for Human Rights, the Obermann Center for Advanced Studies, the Film Department and The School of Music.
